Kim Blazek Dahlborn
President & Chief Executive Officer
“I can’t even think of a career in any other field. Since high school, I wanted to work in a public relations firm. I imagined that I would meet exciting people and travel to interesting places. Every day has not been so glamorous — but there are many days that have been exactly as I imagined!”
Kim, her husband and children love to travel. They have achieved their goal of visiting every U.S. state capitol and met many interesting people along the way. The family plans to write a book about their adventures.
Kim leads and manages the firm’s operations. She started with LCWA when the firm was four years old and has been instrumental in the success of the business. Her dedication to client service and her high standards of delivering effective, results-oriented programming have been the foundation of the culture at LCWA.
She is involved in the strategic and creative directions of all of our clients’ programs and campaigns. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our clients, especially in media, brand building/positioning, change management, reputation management, crisis communications and research.
Kim has spent her entire career working in the public relations agency environment. Before joining LCWA, Kim focused on media relations, events and branding for several major firms in Chicago. She represented national and Chicago clients in both the consumer and business-to-business areas.
Kim has served on the board of directors for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Museum of Broadcast Communications, as well as the junior board of the Chicago History Museum and the President’s Board of UCAN, one of Chicago’s leading and oldest social service agencies for at-risk youth.
Kim grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in mass communications with minors in speech communications and public relations.
