If LCWA client the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) had its way, the recent switch back to standard time would be the last seasonal time change in the U.S. LCWA drove healthcare PR coverage of the dangers of daylight saving time with media interviews in the weeks leading up to the “fall back” to standard time. From the USA Today to FOX 32 Chicago, media stories highlighted the dangers of the biannual time switch, including negative effects on our sleep/wake patterns which can lead to an increase in motor vehicle accidents, medical errors, cardiovascular events and mood disturbances to name a few.

Our support of the AASM’s position of eliminating daylight saving time landed expert interviews in top news sources such as Today.com, ABC 7 San Francisco, WKRN Nashville, and Spectrum News 1. A press release was also distributed for print and online use. In total, our efforts garnered over 688 million impressions and over 1,000 media placements to help the AASM drive discussion of the negative effects of daylight saving time.
