In September, CEDIA Expo brought thousands of leaders in the smart home industry from around the world to Denver, Colo. As the global trade organization for the smart home technology industry, CEDIA provides training, certification, resources and networking opportunity for its members – and this annual event continues to serve as a celebration of the growing industry.
At this year’s CEDIA Expo, the results of a joint survey from CEDIA and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA | KBIS) were announced at a town hall session. The survey provided a comprehensive look into the smart home integration market, including the growing need for collaboration between integrators, designers, architects and builders. It also highlighted current trends like smart lighting and security-focused products as well as up-and-coming features like smart countertops and smart countertop appliances.
Another hot topic at this year’s event: the upcoming kick-off of CEDIA Global Smart Home Day, taking place November 3. As part of the festivities, I joined other marketing professionals to lead a panel discussion designed to help both integrators and those in the design and build space make the most of Smart Home Day this year and in years to come.
